I've Been Away and Busy

For the last few months I've been on Southeast Farallon Island.

Happy Feet

My opinion: feet are meant to be used, not hidden in shoes. The above shot is from over the summer. A self portrait after wandering through the sierras barefoot for a few hours. The earth is better felt with unshod toes. The below is a shot I took for my friend, E.P., helping her out on a school project. She had the idea and I executed. Climb trees barefoot.

There Are Two Things You Can Stare at Forever...

Fire and the ocean. Well, I know that is at least true for me. Burnt through that spring break like fire going through some logs of dry pine.

Freedom Comes Tomorrow

Remember my Day 365 post, Onto the horizon? Well this shot reminds me a little bit of it. My last final is tomorrow. Sorry I have been so absent these past few weeks, but school has gotten the better of me. Soon enough, I will be spending some quality time in Zion, hopefully with my camera as well (though it would be quite the weight for backpacking, we will see).

Peace of Mind

I'm on the search for it at the moment. There are a lot of things going on this quarter, a hefty school load, jobs, looking for a job, senior thesis, friends, community. This picture of Lake Tahoe definitely puts me in a calmer mood.

Teamwork

Some pictures really are worth a thousand words. As a photographer, I try to capture as many words in a photo as possible. This picture, however, would be quite the challenge to summarize with such a small number of descriptors...maybe you can do it?

You really need to just let go and make a fool of yourself whether or not there is a 6 year old and their dad watching you in a perplexed manner.

Birdlife

Sometimes this is all you need to be happy. I love my thrashed Sibley and I picked up these nikon compact binos a little bit ago; they work great! On a side note, I'm currently reading Audubon's Elephant by Duff Hart-Davis. A fantastic story and quick read with some good pictures to go along with it. It is definitely giving me a whole new respect for Audubon...someone who I already hold as a role-model in my life.

Long Lines

Had a great slackline session on saturday. Trick lines in the morning, long lines in the afternoon. This guy, Jerry Miszewski, helped me out a lot with getting all my gear together (pictures to come). He is amazing when it comes to rigging lines and is crazy good on long lines (he's working towards walking a 500 meter one). Check out his site if you need any slack goods!

As of Late...

I've been spending most of my time with these lovely people. They are family and I love them all.

Well Hello There!

Long time no talk, folks, sorry about that! My computer crashed, yet again, so I don't really have any way of getting my photos or commentary to you. I think I'm finally through with this computer and I'm researching new ones as we speak (or as I type, rather). So yea, that's what the delays all about.

Not having a computer isn't all that bad. I feel like I waste a lot less time...

Anyways, hope to be back in your graces soon!

Caught in a Web

Lots of things happening all at once in my life right now, but I'm trying to make the most out of the time I left before school. Things need to happen, and then other things happen, so other things need to change. I just hope there's room for it all!

Off to Big Sur!

hey everyone, I'm off to Big Sur, CA for two weeks starting today. I can only hope that it's beauty can compare to what I experienced in Yosemite last weekend. Of course, I'm sure it will have no trouble in doing so. And yes, I am bringing my camera.
