It's the best way to listen. Really digging this right now. Especially the third song.

"My Heart Belongs Here"

Went to Sickspits open mic last night (if you're in Davis, it's the first tuesday night of every month) for some refreshing words of wisdom and lyric prowess. I was planning on writing something new for, but my schedule got hectic and didn't have time. Well, now I'm a bit inspired and I'm working on a new piece titled the same as this post. This picture is a hint to what its about.

If you have the time, check out Sickspits for sure. Its hosted by a close friend of mine.

Sickspits at Whole Earth Festival

Here are a few of my favorite shots that I took at the Sickspits peotry/spoken word/rap performance at the Whole Earth Festival this year.
Here is Eden (if i remember her name correctly). She was really great. I ran into her later on in the night and she was full of so much energy; I loved it.
Here is one of my friends, Anthony, reading an extremely well done poem to a captive audience.
This girl, my god...she spilled out everything on the stage. Ended up crying, but stayed up there and continue talking. This was one of the most powerful things that I saw during the weekend.

On another note, my good friend, Mannie, does a lot of the organizing for Sickspits in Davis. There is a poetry slam event tomorrow (Friday the 20th) at the UC Davis Art Annex (aka the Technocultural studies building) that you NEED to go to. Trust me, you'll be sorry if you miss this. It's about to be rad. Heres the facebook event page, yo:

see you there!

Ribbon Acrobat

Looks like something that I would want to try.

A really breathtaking performance at the Soular Stage at WEF 2011.

The Twelfth Night

Saw the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble's production of The Twelfth Night Yesterday by complete chance. Went for a stroll with a friend, which turned into a wandering event, which turned into us following the sound of amplified music, which turning into us getting tickets to sit in the cold and watch some Shakespearean comeday. TOTALLY worth it. It was hilarious. I actually kind of want to read it now, just so I can use some of his lines in every day situations.

Oh, the picture is unrelated, by the way.
