Relics gathered from traveling the world hang above my head while I sleep in my room in my San Rafael house. It's kind of comforting. I hope, one day, I can say that I traveled as much as my uncle had.

It's A Lot of Money
But it's going to go somewhere good. I have been in a bit of a musical funk recently, trying to grope around in the dark, searching for some sort of style to call my own. So far, It has been rather unsuccessful. I'm hoping this will take me out of that funk and put me back on the right track.
I read an interesting article lately, about minimalist living and the possessions we own. It was from a different perspective than I was used to. Instead of saying that we should get rid of our possessions and learn to live and love without them, it said the we need to learn to love the possessions we have. There is so much waste generated by the idea the we always have to have the new gadget on the market, when really, that gadget is just going to get replaced later by some newer toy. I admit, I have fallen subject to this trend before, but now, as I am slowly trying to rule out the unnecessary in my life, I have taken some serious time to consider what really is necessary and what items will be with me years down the road.
Now, I know music will be with me, but I really don't know what form it will take in a few years, or really, in a weeks. I can only hope that this new guitar will be one that will last me the years to come, and that it will take my music to different places.
Never stop doing what you love. Never stop creating.

Dirty Feet
I always have dirty feet, even after I shower. It's probably because I spend a lot of time barefoot, especially when in grass and dirt and now I just have a layer of perma-dirt on the bottom of my feet along with some useful calluses ha. I know I've had a good day I come home and my feet are nice and dirty. Some people really don't like feet, and I don't entirely understand why. I find them fantastically useful.

Flowers, Aromatics, Sex
"The aroma of flowers, from which we have borrowed our perfumes, while extremely powerful, has been from the beginning entirely seductive in its intentions. A rose is a rose is a rogue. Perfume, fundamentally, is the sexual attractant of flowers, or, in the case of civet and musk, of animals. Squeezed from the reproductive glands of plants and creatures, perfume is the smell of creation, a sign dramatically delivered to our senses of the Earth's regenerative powers - a message of hope and a message of pleasure."

Stomach Flu
It's been going around and I managed to catch it. Im running off of nearly no energy, and because i can't really eat much right now, I'm not able to have my usual energy snack, mixed nuts. I'm gonna stick to the BRAT diet for a few days (bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast) and see if I can't come out of this thing quickly.

So I Went Home Last Weekend...
and a lot in my house changed. Things have been painted new colors, new furniture, and my moms office looks like it's straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog. I probably would not have felt at home at all if I hadn't been enthusiastically greeted by my dog and then hung out with my sis while we ate sol food.

Norcal State of Mind
Got to go home for about 24 hours yesterday, which was pretty nice. Bummer my parents weren't there but I did get to hang with my sister and dog. Went for a nice long hike saturday morning with the dog through some old fire roads near china camp. Can't wait for thanksgiving break...or winter break, really.

What an Upset
So yesterday, we had the day off from school (being Veteran's day and all) so I decided it would be a nice study break to run over to the ARC and go for a climb. I checked to see if the ARC was even open and it said that it did not run holiday hours over Veteran's day. I run over there, however, only to find that the ARC is open but the rock wall is closed all day. Bummer.
I then proceeded to go on a six mile run.
My legs are sore.

Tea Does a Body Good
Especially on a rainy day. I always owe a lot of my good health to the amount of green tea that I drink. Whether or not the association is true or not, well I'm not entirely sure. But nonetheless, I shall continue to drink my tea on an almost daily basis, nice and strong.
