Sorry To Inform

My computer is dead and my blogging shall be on a bit of a hiatus for a little. Its kind of upsetting since I'm over halfway to my goal (365 post in 365 days) but oh well. I could use a break from the online lifestyle for a bit. My photography shall hopefully return soon. So, for my few loyal followers, I apologize.

Another Technique Shot

Here I did something similar to the last entry, except with "3 exposures" rather than just two. It is all in the same exposure though. The first part (center RJ) was done with the flash to get it nice and clear and then immediately after the flash went off, I turned to my right and held a pose, and then to the left after, achieving a rather ghostly effect on the two side RJ's. The exposure was 30 seconds long so each pose was held for about 15 sec and this shot was taken in the dead of night on Stinson Beach.

Altering Your Perspective

Heres a double exposure shot that I did with me DSLR. It was a 30 sec exposure and half way through it, I threw my shirt over the lens (to stop light from getting in. Granted it wasn't the best way to achieve this effect) and ran the camera over to a different angle of the same object, and continued the exposure for another 12-13 seconds. I think it came out pretty interesting.

I feel like theres a lot to learn in double exposures. Especially when I see stuff that one of my photography friends does, Maya M. Crazy good.

God, I need to get back into film.

My Room

Is a little bit of a sanctuary. I'm kind of glad I have one all to myself. Maybe I'll collage my door with a bunch of black and white 50s and 60s pictures of musicians.

Last Year

People around campus would all recognize me by my hat. This year, they recognize me as the kid who juggles in the quad, usually doesn't wear a shirt, and has long hair.

Let the Sun Shine In

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
The Age of Aquarius
Aquarius! Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius! Aquarius!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
The Age of Aquarius
Aquarius! Aquarius!
Aquarius! Aquarius!

New Toys

Picked up an old road frame + some extras a week or two ago and created a hideous beater bike that is super chill to ride. It is as minimum as it can be (no brakes no gears nothing). It has a 26" coaster brake wheel on the back and a 27" road wheel on the front and some riser bars (essentially a cruiser with road bike geometry), and it almost has barspin clearance. I intentionally wanted it to look as awful is possible so that it would be even less likely for someone to steal my $80 bike.

In other news, I saved myself from spending a lot of money on another bike that would've most likely just ended up with me injuring my wrist again (which happened yesterday when I took a gnarly fall skating, anyways).

Also, I found a free blue guitar at a dumpster and got free popcorn/candy at a free movie screening last night. Yesterday was productive.

Backpacking

So I was scouring through a garage sale that was near my house and something bright orange, blue and green caught my eye. Lo and behold it was an awesome backpacking backpack. In an Australian accent, the women behind the counter shouted out "Free to a good home." I talked to her a bit and it turns out that she had taken it all over europe with here. Im super stoked to have picked this up. Made in New Zealand too! Hopefully i'll be taken it to some far off places this summer. I want to do a long day hike with it in the next few weekends...maybe the 20 miles out to Lake Berryessa? We shall see.

Waking Up Here Would Be Nice Too

No Reason To Post Anger

I shot this one day at the beach, I don't know why. I haven't really had anything to be angry about the past, I don't even know how long, but it has been sitting in my picture folder for too long, so here it is. I am kind of in a photographic rut, I feel like I haven't taken any really good shots in awhile. Hopefully I'll get out of this soon.
