Music Makes Me Feel Better

Here are some shots I took at the local thrift store of some music related items. Welcome to the boom boom room, ratty old speakers with a cassette organizer (those were the days), and the type of records that will take you to far away places.

Food

My computer is now up and running. Here are some pictures of food. Why? Because I'm hungry. Bloody alien lettuce speciale, rhinoceros loaves, strawberries impersonating cupcakes and a whole rack of meatsicles (not that I would ever eat them).

Computer Crash

My computer caught a virus. Luckily, I have some tech savvy friends who are helping me out to reformat my comp with Windows 7 (thanks Bijan and Geoff). I backed up all my photos so hopefully I will still have content to post, but if there is nothing new up in the next few days, it is because I am limited to these God awful public computers in the SAAC. Hope to be posting daily soon.

First Day Back

I thought the dorms would be rather bustling. Instead they were kind of dead. Hopefully people will start to pour in as the week goes on.

Back in Davis

Spring break went by like "wooooosh." One week isn't enough. I'm all moved back into the dorms in Davis. I found this on my white board, made me smile.

Injuries

They suck. Although my ankle did heal up before my ski trip to Tahoe, i managed to mess up my shoulder a bit in some icy sections. Here is a rather lovely shot of my friends injured toe...yea...it is tasty.

Limantour Beach

Well, this shot isnt from Limantour, its from some random beach of highway 1. I took it a few months ago on a trip to LA with some close friends. I am, however, going to limantour today. Sunshine and backflips galore.

Bike Projects

I swear, every time i come back from Davis, I always have some sort of new bike project. I went shopping in the used bike store yesterday and came back with this sexy alum Vitus (french roadie frame) and a bunch of bits and ends to try and finish the build. Sadly, this one may take a bit longer than expected. my cinelli stem doesnt quite fit right, the DA downtube shifters are a bit funky, im really going to have to work and the rear derailleur, and i need a fricken 25 mm SEATPOST, where the HELL am i supposed to find that? stupid french.

Green Tea

I have been becoming more and more of a green tea fan. I tend to drink it daily. Recently i ordered a loose leaf sample pack from adagio teas and when it arrived, I was more than happy. This i my favorite so far, its called Gunpowder.

Good Food

I miss organic, farm grown food. Not this certified organic stuff, but the stuff you can still see the dirt on and that actually smells like what you're going to eat. When I get back into Marin, I plan on spending some time at the local Farmer's Market. mmmmm...

Parking Garage Sesh

Also, a few friends and I were skating the parking garage last night and of course, some cops had to stop us. I'm really starting to hate Davis cops enforcing mundane laws...

Sprang Time

The weather is amazing in Davis, and of course, it is perfectly aligned with finals. I studied for my wildlife class for four hours outside yesterday and it was wonderful. Sunny weather means i get to bust out my favorite hat again, too. SCORE.

Halves

These are two shots from a series that i started. Just kind of an idea really. Putting two contrasting colors and textures together, half and half. It is probably the most simple composition a shot can have, but i like them. I wonder if I will ever continue them...

Where I'm Confined

Okay, so I'm starting to feel a little more stressed now. But luckily i have a good work space. Complete with plenty of books, laptop/music, original artworks, and giraffe head. Not pictured: guitar amp to the right on the floor.

Finals

It's the weekend before finals, and i feel like I'm not stressed enough. Is that strange? Oh well, time to start studying.

Bike Cops Suck

This is a shot of my favorite bike tool, idn why, i just like it. Simple Mastercraft 15mm crescent wrench.

ANYWAYS, story time for you kids. I was riding out to Target with some friends and got stopped by a bike cop. I was in violation for not having a brake on my fixed gear. I've heard of this CA state law before and i think its complete BS, i think that toe straps+ cages+ a fixed drivetrain + over 3 years of experience riding fixed gears brakeless should qualify as a brake. But it doesnt. And now i have to slap a brake on there and show the UCD police dept I've been a good boy and did what they said.

I've decided to just throw on a pair of flat bars with a lever and cable and call it a day. Once i show it to them, I'll take it off, put my bullhorn back on, and continue to ride brakeless like i always have. Stupid small town cops have nothing to better to do than to irritate the shit outta kids.

Musicology

Here's an band photo from a few months ago, at our reunion in Marks garage. We are a garage/avante garde/fusion/jam band known as Angry Norman. We're comprised of Keith H2O waters on bass, Marky mark Loeffler beatin the drums, Brandon steezy Drake on guitar, and myself on guitar as well.

Me and my musically inclined associate Keith have something in the works for this summer, and im SUPER stoked on it already. I have to get into peak playing condition just to keep up with this kid.

Updates

So i kinda have a stockpile of photos that i want to put up, and im thinking if i do it all at once, it would be a bit boring. So ill go through my hard drives and try to add a photo a day to the blog.

Also, when you click on the photo, i realized it takes you to the picture in full resolution, which isnt very conducive to actually seeing the picture. i suggest right clicking the photo once youre at the full resolution version, and clicking "view image" in order to actually see it.

One fine saturday, me and a two other photographers decided to take a driving journey out to lake berryessa. We then decided to keep heading west, and eventually we ended up in Petaluma. It was a fine day. Lakes, weird plant sprouts that resemble sluggs, playing in clay, andy goldsworthy, and shrooms. to be continued...

Tonality

A shot a took a little bit back of my sunburst Fender jazzmaster re-issue. Tone is a huge quality when buying guitars, and i have to say...this one did not dissapoint when i got it. Very versatile

day of creation

so i decided to follow suite with a few other photographer friends of mine and make a photo blog to showcase my stuff rather than just post it all on flickr. that whole 200 photo limit was starting to get a bit annoying. ive been at 196 for a long time and i dont want to have to delete photos to put for up. heres a link to check out my flickr stuff
